Trevor Lawrence film review from the Jaguars' Week 3 win
Can we get an accurate deep ball, 16?

I know, I know, we're all pretty much on to San Francisco. Better late than never, though?
I'll provide clips and context from each of Trevor Lawrence's performances on Wednesdays going forward.
Here are my notes from his Week 3 outing against the Texans.
The Good
Lawrence was ripping it in the first quarter. He had 4 tight-window throws to four different receivers against Houston's talented secondary, which plays a lot of zone match coverages out of single-high safety shells.

Lawrence was in the zone. Playing with rhythm. Groovin'. Whatever you want to call it.
He completed 7 of 11 passes (64%) for 56 yards through the game's first 15 minutes. For the remainder of the game, however, he went 13 for 29 (45%) for 166 yards.
The issue wasn't Lawrence falling out of a flow state – it was the rest of the offense never reaching one.
As you're probably aware of by now, the Jaguars dropped 5 passes on Sunday (the most of any team in Week 3, per PFF).
That brings their season-long total up to 13 drops (the next closest team has 9).
The 10 QBs most impacted by drops:
— Steven Patton (@PattonAnalytics) September 24, 2025
1. Trevor Lawrence (+0.26)
2. Tyrod Taylor (+0.24)
3. Joe Flacco (+0.23)
4. Dak Prescott (+0.23)
5. Pat Mahomes (+0.17)
6. Cam Ward (+0.17)
7. Russell Wilson (+0.14)
8. Jayden Daniels (+0.13)
9. JJ McCarthy (+0.13)
10. Baker Mayfield (+0.11) pic.twitter.com/BmWio6f6dK
Beyond that, screen plays did not work against the Texans. Lawrence completed 3 of 6 such passes for a grand total of 0 yards.
And in the ground game, Jacksonville had 71 yards on 21 designed rushes (3.4 yards per carry). Its only run of 8+ yards was when the Texans let Travis Etienne walk into the endzone late in the game.
Lawrence wasn't completely blameless, as we'll get to in the next section, but he certainly didn't get much help.
The Jaguars needed him to make plays in order to win – and that's exactly what he did with two minutes remaining in a tie ball game.
